If you are looking for a soft feel mattress, choosing a soft spring tension will not mean the mattress will be soft. The fillings inside a mattress provide the overall feel you will experience, whereas the spring tension is specific to body weight and sleeping position, which will dictate the level of support you will receive. However, this is where most retailers make mistakes. They focus on the spring tension alone to give them the soft, medium, firm or extra firm feel, which is incorrect. For example, a mattress can have a soft spring and a firm feel.

“Edge to edge support” in a mattress describes the uniform support offered across the entire surface of the mattress. It ensures that whether you’re lying near the middle or close to the side, you’ll experience a consistent level of comfort and support. It’s particularly beneficial for those who shift positions throughout the night or for couples who use the full width of the bed.
However, there’s a common misconception that needs to be addressed: “edge to edge support” applies when lying down, not sitting. Let’s be clear: a mattress is not a sofa. Sitting on the edge exerts concentrated pressure on the border, which can lead to potential damage to both the springs and the border stitching. When we and other luxury mattress brands talk about edge support, we are referencing the uniformity of comfort and support during sleep, not the durability to handle seated weight on its borders.
Now, we’re not saying you can’t briefly sit on the edge to put on your shoes or socks. However, don’t expect the mattress border to be in perfect shape when you do, as it’s not designed for sitting on the edge. So, if you’re expecting your mattress to behave like a settee when you sit on the edge, that’s simply not its purpose. For your mattress’s longevity, exercise caution and avoid sitting on its edge.
Please note that the depth of a mattress can have a tolerance of + or – 2cm on each side. This variance arises due to the nature of natural fillings which, unlike synthetic ones, can compress at different degrees during the manufacturing process. As a result, the depth may vary slightly in every 100% natural mattress. This is an industry-standard and a characteristic of mattresses made with natural fillings.

Our mattresses should be flipped and rotated once every two weeks for the first month and then once every month to help even settlement.
If you believe you may find a mattress too heavy to flip and rotate, you can try the following.
1. Rotate the mattress every four weeks and flip it over every 10-12 weeks to help reduce the number of times you have to lift it. Please know this may affect the lifespan of the mattress when compared to flipping and rotating every four weeks.
2. Choose a zip & link mattress as they are considerably more effortless to flip and rotate.
It is perfectly ok to place a pocket sprung mattress on a slatted bed frame. However, we always recommend placing some barrier, usually cardboard, over the slats. Unlike many other retailers, we don’t advise MDF, no matter how thin, as it will make the mattress firmer. In addition, the barrier will prevent ridging, bulging and dipping from occurring due to the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats.
